My work is motivated by the desire I have to depict all types of human beings and their reactions to the situations that they find themselves in. I am interested in painting groups of people; both those that work effectively together towards a common goal such as orchestras, and those that have some trouble in the ranks.
I also enjoy playing around with color combinations and palettes that are limited or unusual in some way. Many of my works are cheerful and humorous; the color schemes add to the mood. Others are more bizarre and change scale and perspective unexpectedly. The medium very much influences how I carry out an idea.
I like to experiment with collage, watercolor, wood, and acrylic painting, and multi-media creations.
In addition, I paint and create jewelry which is painted in many layers with very small brushes and a steady hand. Some of them are collage. I think the jewelry is cheerful and unique. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind small artwork. At one time I had a one-woman show on the main floor of Macy's in Manhattan. Unfortunately, it was on the day the war broke out in Iran, and it was mighty quiet that day. I was awarded Philadelphia Dresses the World top Costume Jewelry.
